About

For well over two decades Greg has been behind a microphone or in front of a camera striving to bring the audience what they want and deserve - compelling content.
“You can make a cupcake sale in Three Hills, Alberta sound sexy if you try.”
                                                                                                 Greg Shannon

Greg’s career has taken him across Canada with stops in Alberta, Saskatchewan Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and a few BC cities too.  In the mid 90’s, when record company money was flowing like beer from a frat party keg and sponsorship dollars for Country music were at an all-time high, Shannon co-created, co-wrote and hosted the nationally syndicated radio show Today’s Country.  The show featured the biggest acts of the day, including, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Alabama & the Dixie Chicks. In addition to scoring several New York Festival International Awards for his work on the show, Greg and his wife Teresa started their family.

The next stop was CMT, where Greg and a tiny, renegade team of TV virgins produced and hosted the CMT Request Line, a daily national video request show.

That amazing opportunity lasted a scant two seasons and then, in the fear-filled year of Y2K, Greg & his growing family packed the banana-tired U-Haul for yet another glamorous Canadian relocation.

A few provinces and morning shows later, Greg is now part of another small but mighty team responsible for waking up Central Alberta on KG Country 95.5.  KG was named the 2011 CCMA Radio Station of the Year.  In 2013, Greg & the crew scored their fifth win as the nationwide Morning Show of the Year (in a secondary market) from the Canadian Country Music Association.

In his spare time, Greg enjoys riding white horses shirtless.
